No Limits Club's Inaugural Boccia Competition

The No Limits Club's Inaugural Open Boccia Competition was held at Linlithgow Leisure Centre on Saturday 5th November.

Fifty-four competitors from across Scotland played in around one hundred matches.

The players were a mix of adults and youngsters, the youngest being six years old, ranging in experience from novices at their first competition to those who have represented Lothian region at the National Special Olympics and several who have represented Scotland at UK competitions.

boccia2011_4There were some very close matches, with play of a very high standard. We were delighted that a couple of our young adults, Fiona and Stuart, took the opportunity to referee a few matches. Thank you to all the referees and team managers for making the event run so smoothly and thanks to all our visitors for making the event such a success. This event is likely to become an annual fixture in our calendar.

The club is very grateful for West Lothian Sports Council’s grant towards the purchase of new sets of boccia balls for the competition, and for support from West Lothian Council.
